Evemodel (China) 53' Fishbelly Gondola

These cheapie Evemodel N scale freight cars first started appearing circa 2020 and, at least as of this 2023 writing, not much is known about them (apart from speculation that the models are probably knock-offs of cars sold by one of the major mfr's).

Evemodel doesn't provide any information on the prototype for this model (if there is one), but steel-sided / fishbelly-sided gondolas like this one date back to at least the late 1930s. I'm told that the fishbelly-sides were introduced to add more strength to the center of the car. Open gondolas like these are used to transport just about anything that can be loaded using an overhead crane - coal, garbage, cable, railroad ties, iron, logs, piling, pipe poles, posts, rip rap, rock, rods, scrap metal, steel, tin, tubes, wire (and on and on).
