Atlas/Roco (Austria) 94' Four-Truck Tank Car

This model came out in the early 1970s and has not been re-run since. It was released in four road names - GATX, Texaco, Citgo, and Wanda Petroleum. Paint defects were common and lettering was frequently blurred. Only the GATX version had a prototype.

The prototype was built by GATX in 1965 for testing and demonstration purposes. It was found to be too long to negotiate curves with safe clearances on many Eastern railroads, and influenced industry adoption of the 89' maximum car length standard. The car was donated to the National Museum of Transport in St. Louis in 1971, where it remains on active display.
